CV graduates can keep in touch on Web site

The Spokesman-Review

A new Web site will not only keep Central Valley alumni in the loop about activities but also save the Alumni Foundation thousands of dollars.

This spring, the Alumni Foundation was awarded a $14,300 grant from Foundation Northwest.

This money has been used to create a mailing list of all CV High graduates and send them a newsletter. By last summer, the database of addresses totaled more than 10,000, or about 75 percent of all graduates.

The original idea was to mail a newsletter to alumni, at about $3,000 per mailing. The first newsletter will be mailed next week. In the process, the group came up with a high-tech option to the newsletter, and future newsletters will be sent via e-mail and posted online only.

All Bear alumni can go to the Web site to communicate – www.alumniproject.org. Eventually, each graduating class will have its own page, bulletin board and e-mail contacts.

An official announcement and demonstration will be made at an alumni night, 7 p.m. Oct. 25 at the school, 821 S. Sullivan Road.
