October is designated as “Adopt a Dog Month” by the American Humane Association in tribute to the millions of shelter dogs euthanized each year due to lack of loving homes. Chewy is a perfect example of a gentle soul who deserves remembering. He is a friendly, fluffy fellow who spent the past months at the shelter because he grew too big for his prior owner to handle. He’s nearing 100 pounds and has a long, reddish coat that will be stunning once groomed. If you agree that size discrimination is just plain wrong, maybe you can make room for Chewy. Visit him at the Coeur d’Alene Animal Shelter at 125 Hazel or call (208) 665-7379 to learn more.
