Sure, the numbers weren’t awful. Except for the one – three points – that counts most.

Running backs: C-

Only because of Hutsona’s nifty running on three plays.

Wide receivers: B

Made some nice catches and Gibson had a breakout game.

Offensive line: D

What has happened to the unit that dominated USC two weeks ago?

Defensive line: B

Didn’t get much pressure but held steady; Pitoitua had another good day.

Linebackers: B

Nothing huge like the week before, but pretty solid against a stellar offense.

Defensive backs: A-

Responsible for three turnovers and for keeping the Cougars in this one.

Coaching: C

Good defensive adjustments, but how about a new look in the red zone on offense?
