Church notebook: Dare 2 Share training conference at Valleypoint

The Valleypoint at Pines church is hosting a training session for youth and senior pastors at the church at 714 S. Pines Road, on Tuesday. The session will focus on the Dare 2 Share Ministry program that focuses on training teenagers for evangelism.

Each interested church may send two pastors to the conference for no charge. It will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Call the church at 928-7880 for reservations. More information about the program is available at www.dare2share.org.

Spaghetti dinner

Opportunity Presbyterian Church will host a 4-H fundraiser for the Weitman family at 6 p.m. Friday. There will be a silent auction during the spaghetti feed. The church is at 202 N. Pines Road. Call 924-9750 for more information.

Halloween fun

Come to the Pumpkin Patch at Valleypoint at Pines through the end of the month. The event includes a pumpkin patch, pony rides, hay-bale maze and face painting. The event is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday. It continues through Oct. 31.

There is a small fee for the pony rides, and the pumpkins are priced by size. All other events are free. The church is at 714 S. Pines Road. Call 928-7880 for more information.

Fall carnival

The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection will host its second annual fall carnival next Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. There will be prizes, games, food and a jumping castle. Costumes are optional. Game tickets are five for $1. The church is at 15319 E. Eighth Ave. Call 926-6450 for more information.
