Joey Larsen had 14 kills and 27 digs to lead Lewiston to a five-game victory over Coeur d’Alene in Inland Empire League volleyball action Thursday night at Coeur d’Alene.

Game scores were 25-23, 20-25, 25-13, 17-25, 15-13.

Also in the IEL, Marissa Duncan finished with 18 kills, but Lakeland couldn’t hang on as visiting Post Falls won 25-14, 19-25, 24-26, 25-21, 15-13 in Rathdrum. Duncan also led with 15 digs and three blocks for Lakeland. Teammate Chelsey Curran finished with 24 assists.

“In Intermountain League action, Shawna Heath led all players with 14 kills and St. Maries defeated Kellogg 25-18, 15-25, 25-14, 25-18 at Kellogg. Kellogg had 13 blocks in the second game, led by Jacaeri Hiller who had four of her six blocks in the game. St. Maries turned around the match in the third and fourth games with tips at the net. … Also in the IML, Tarra Tymesen led with 11 kills, 14 digs and two blocks as Timberlake defeated host Bonners Ferry 25-10, 25-16, 21-25, 25-22.

“In the North Star League, Hannah Nyrop had 11 kills and five digs and Kootenai defeated host Lakeside 25-27, 25-17, 25-21, 25-15 in Plummer. Davi Swan led the Knights with 19 kills. … Also in the NSL, Cara Hayman had 32 assists and 10 digs as visiting Wallace defeated Clark Fork 19-25, 25-12, 25-27, 25-17, 15-9. Megan Hess led the Wampus Cats with 33 digs and eight kills.

Girls soccer

Despite being outshot 22-2, Post Falls held on for a scoreless tie with Lake City in Inland Empire League action at Lake City. Lake City missed key opportunities to score, hitting the post on two shots. Goalkeeper Karen Lohman saved 12 shots for Post Falls.

Boys soccer

Lake City defeated host Post Falls 2-0 in Inland Empire League play. Details were not reported.
