Valley Fire – Commissioners discussed the new Combined Communication contract with the city of Spokane for the 911 system. They approved a grant request for $1,600 by the Spokane Area Economical Development Council. One final home on Moose Lane was annexed into the district. Fairfield City Council – Council members accepted as complete the wastewater treatment plant project. The town’s Arbor Day celebration was set for 6 p.m. Oct. 3 in Thiel Park. They discussed allowing a youth program to hold dances twice a month in the Community Center. (Source: Town Clerk Sue Adams)

Rockford City Council – The Fire District’s new fire truck has arrived. Council members discussed the Urban Community Forestry Plan and will look into joining it. (Source: Town clerk)
