Red Sox 4, Orioles 3: At Boston, David Ortiz walked three times and scored twice, Mike Lowell drove in three runs and Boston beat Baltimore.

Yankees 7, Blue Jays 2: At New York, Gary Sheffield hit a tiebreaking, three-run home run that led New York over Toronto. With two games left in the regular season, the Yankees assured themselves of home field throughout the postseason.

Royals 9, Tigers 7 (11): At Detroit, Emil Brown, Paul Phillips and Jeff Keppinger all homered in the 11th inning to lift Kansas City over Detroit, keeping the Tigers tied with Minnesota for first place in the Central Division.

Indians 2, Devil Rays 1: At Cleveland, Jhonny Peralta drew a bases-loaded walk off Seth McClung with one out in the ninth inning to give Cleveland a win over Tampa Bay.

White Sox 4, Twins 3: At Minneapolis, Phil Nevin struck out with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning, ending a Twins loss to Chicago. Minnesota came up short with a chance to take sole possession of the Central lead.

Angels 6, Athletics 0: At Anaheim, Calif., Ervin Santana allowed three hits in seven innings and Chone Figgins hit his first inside-the-park home run to lead Los Angeles over Oakland.
