Timberlake thumps Priest River

Timberlake’s Nick Puckett bulldozed his way for 218 rushing yards and scored twice as the Tigers remained atop the Intermountain League standings with a 45-7 blowout Friday over visiting Priest River (3-3, 1-1).

Cody Jones added 85 receiving yards and 66 rushing yards for Timberlake (5-0, 2-0).

Levi Powers threw three touchdown passes for the Tigers, who remain undefeated.

Also in the IML, Kenny Swift caught two touchdown passes and intercepted a pass and returned it 10 yards for a touchdown as Bonners Ferry (2-3, 1-0) whipped St. Maries (0-6, 0-2) 51-0 in Bonners Ferry. A.J. Bennett threw three touchdown passes and Josh Hawks added 121 rushing yards and one touchdown for the Badgers.

North Star League

Randy Auger ran for 120 yards on 14 carries to lead Mullan (2-2, 1-1) to a 34-26 win over Clark Fork (2-3, 0-2) in Mullan. Tigers quarterback Jay Ploharz threw three touchdown passes and ran for another in the win. Ryan Miller led the Wampus Cats with 143 rushing yards on 27 carries. … Jake Hall had an 85-yard kick return for a touchdown in the first quarter and scored a rushing touchdown in the fourth to lead Kootenai (3-2, 2-0) to a 44-32 win over host Wallace (3-3, 2-1). With the win, Kootenai takes over first place in the league standings.

Non-league

Sandpoint (2-4) raced to a 42-7 second-quarter lead and easily beat North Central (0-5) 56-7 in a non-league contest in Sandpoint. Kurt Stoll led the Bulldogs with 175 rushing yards on 12 carries and scored two touchdowns. Sandpoint had 319 total rushing yards. … Tom Kerr was 14 of 18 passing for 274 yards and six touchdowns to lead host Lewiston (3-2) to a 47-13 win over Moscow (2-4). Tyler Randall was 14 of 29 for 224 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Bears.

Great Northern League

Dave Figley caught a 37-yard touchdown pass from Brandon Hardie in the first quarter and Cheney (3-2, 2-0) held Deer Park (0-5, 0-2) scoreless through three quarters as the Blackhawks beat the Stags 17-7 in Deer Park. Keith Parker added a 5-yard run for a touchdown in the fourth quarter for Cheney. … Isaac Woodbury completed 15 of 29 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns to guide Clarkston (3-1, 2-0) to a 31-14 win over Riverside (1-3, 0-2) in Clarkston. J.T. Rimmelspacher caught four passes for 75 yards and scored twice. Micah Kuntz led the Rams with 68 rushing yards and two touchdowns. … Mike Meines scored two rushing touchdowns and caught another as Pullman (5-0, 2-0) defeated host Medical Lake (1-3, 0-2) 36-7.
