April 13 deadline for trustee races

Anyone interested in running for a seat on North Idaho school boards has until April 13 to apply.

Zones 2 and 3 in the Coeur d’Alene School District, as well as Zones 2 and 3 in the Post Falls School District, are up for election. All four seat-holders – Vern Newby and Christie Wood in Coeur d’Alene and Michelle Lippert and Dave Paul in Post Falls – are seeking re-election.

Applicants must be registered to vote and live in the zone they are seeking to represent. To apply, pick up an application at the districts’ central offices. Applicants need signatures of five registered voters in that zone.

Terms are three years with no pay. Descriptions and maps of the zone boundaries are available on district Web sites.

Seats in the Lake Pend Oreille, West Bonner, St. Maries, Kootenai, Plummer-Worley and Wallace school districts are also open. Contact the district offices for more information.
