Spokane County

April 10 – Proclamation, city of Spokane Valley, 6 p.m., 11707 E. Sprague, Suite 101.

April 11– Community Colleges of Spokane Head Start/ECEAP/Early Head Start will display 1,381 pinwheels (a symbol for the child-abuse prevention campaign) at a dedication event, 9 a.m., Institute for Extended Learning Lodge, 3305 W. Fort George Wright Drive, (509) 533-4800.

April 11 – “You, Your Baby and Massage,” class, 5:30-7:30 p.m., St. Anne’s Children and Family Center, 25 W. Fifth Ave., (509) 325-7667.

April 13 – “Our Kids: Our Business” luncheon, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., Davenport Hotel, Grand Pennington Ballroom. Keynote speaker Bob Watt will discuss “The Return on Investment When Kids Thrive.” Register at greaterspokane incorporated.com.

April 15-19 – Pinwheel display in River Park Square; candlelight vigil. Schedule to be determined.

April 17 – Play group for single parents with newborns and toddlers, 4-6 p.m., St. Anne’s Children and Family Center, 25 W. Fifth Ave., (509) 325-7667.

April 18 – City Forum, First Presbyterian Church, 318 S. Cedar, 11:30 a.m. Gary Livingston, chancellor and CEO of Community Colleges of Spokane, speaking on “Investing in Children Today Means a Better Spokane in the Future.”

April 19 – “Bringing Up Baby” class for single expectant parents and single parents with newborns, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Summit View Apartments, CAPA office, lower level, 820 N. Summit Blvd., (509) 325-7667.

April 20 – Spokane Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (SPO-CAN) Council Awards Breakfast, 8 a.m.-noon. Followed by Glen Cooper from Marycliff Institute on “Circle of Security: Classroom Edition,” Mukogawa Fort Wright, 4000 W. Randolph Road, $15 for breakfast and registration. Coeur d’Alene
