Nacho cook-off Saturday

Three finalists will compete Saturday at the Downriver Grill in the annual Inland Northwest Ultimate Healthy Nacho Recipe Contest cook-off.

Judges chose recipes from Ann Yanecek of Deer Park, Eric Olson of Spokane and Ann Staley of Spokane Valley as finalists in this year’s competition. Yanecek will make her Ceviche Nachos. Olson is making Pork Loin Nachos. Ann Staley will make Cowboy Caviar Chicken Nachos.

The cook-off will begin at 11 a.m. at Downriver Grill, 3315 W. Northwest Blvd. The winner will have his or her recipe featured on the menu at the restaurant and win a $500 gift certificate for dining there. Second place will take home a certificate for $250 in milk, cheese or yogurt from Yoke’s Fresh Markets.

Third prize is a $100 gift certificate to the Downriver Grill. The contest is sponsored by the restaurant and the Dairy Farmers of Washington.
