Senior Mark Purser went 4 for 4 with three RBIs and Jarek Cunningham hit a three-run home run in the fourth as Mt. Spokane routed host Mead (7-2) 10-1 in the Greater Spokane League on Tuesday.

Cunningham finished 2 for 4 with five RBIs.

Nic Fowler picked up the win for the Wildcats (10-1) after allowing one run through six innings.

Elsewhere in the GSL, Ryan Richardson allowed six hits and struck out eight in a complete game as North Central blanked visiting Ferris (6-3) 3-0. Evan Witt hit a two-run double in the third for the Indians (5-6). … East Valley scored six runs in the first and cruised past visiting Lewis and Clark (1-10) 11-1 in six innings. Trevor Slocum hit a two-run single in the first and finished with three RBIs for the Knights (3-6). … Cameron Miner had three RBIs and Andy Richards hit a two-run homer in the second as Central Valley routed host Rogers (4-5) 10-1. Rusty Shellhorn picked up the win for the Bears after allowing one run while striking out nine through five innings. Alex Banderas also homered for Central Valley (5-6), a solo shot in the seventh. … Jacob Schnibbe hit a two-run homer in the second and University hammered host Gonzaga Prep (3-8) 13-1 in five innings. Billy Moon earned the win for the Titans (7-2) after allowing three hits and one run in the complete game.

•Lewiston handed Coeur d’Alene (10-2, 4-2) its first two losses of the season after sweeping the Timberwolves in an Inland Empire League doubleheader. Matt Blankenship had two hits and four RBIs as the Bengals won the first game 10-7. In the second game, Lewiston jumped ahead 7-0 after the second inning and cruised to a 7-3 win. Taylor Forge went 3 for 4 and scored two runs for the Bengals (10-1, 8-0).

•Priest River swept Kellogg in an Intermountain League doubleheader. The Spartans scored 10 runs in the fifth and cruised to a 13-0 win in five innings in the first game. Brian Nelson earned the win for Priest River after allowing one hit in the complete game. In the second game, Priest River led 16-1 after three innings and beat the Wildcats (2-7, 1-4) 16-3. Nelson hit a homer for the Spartans (5-3, 3-1).

Softball

Katie Kine hit a grand slam in the third and Shadle Park rolled past visiting Mead (6-3) 9-4 in the Greater Spokane League. Samantha Skillingstad picked up the win for the Highlanders (9-0) after allowing four hits and four runs while striking out 15 in the complete game. … In other GSL action, Kelsie Vallies (6-1) pitched a complete game no-hitter while striking out 15 as North Central blanked visiting Mt. Spokane (3-6) 5-0. Alicia Kahler went 3 for 4 with a run batted in for the Indians (8-1). … University scored eight runs in the first and coasted past host East Valley (3-6) 17-1 in five innings. Riki Schirmeister hit a three-run double to start the scoring in the first. Mollie Buelow picked up the win for the Titans (8-2). …Rogers scored two runs in the fifth and sixth and beat host Lewis and Clark (0-9) 4-1 at Hart Field. Mandy Carlon earned the win for the Pirates (3-6) after allowing one run on four hits in the complete game. … Shelby Wilcoxen hit a grand slam in the second as Gonzaga Prep smashed host Ferris (0-9) 13-1 in five innings. Caitlin Conner earned the win for the Bullpups (4-5).

•Colville swept host Riverside (1-7, 0-4) in a Great Northern League doubleheader. Emillee Lepp and Jordan Emmil each hit two-run homers as the Indians won the first game 17-7 in five innings. Michelle Ching scored three runs for Colville (7-0, 6-0). In the second game, Lepp and Emmil hit two home runs apiece as the Indians won 21-3 in five innings. Lepp finished with seven RBIs and five runs. … Elsewhere in the GNL, Medical Lake scored five runs in the sixth and beat visiting Deer Park 8-2 in the first game of a doubleheader. Jessica Johnson earned the win for the Cardinals after allowing two runs on five hits in the complete game. In the second game, Kayla Leliefeld hit a three-run double in the sixth and the Stags (4-7, 1-5) won 11-10. Carey Campbell led Medical Lake (3-5, 1-3) with three RBIs and three runs.

•Coeur d’Alene scored three runs in the top of the seventh and beat host Lewiston (9-5, 5-4) 3-1 in the first game of an Inland Empire League doubleheader. In the second game, Jenna DeLong pitched a complete game one-hitter as the Vikings won 2-0. Lindsey Stark had two hits to lead Coeur d’Alene (13-0, 7-0). … Also in the IEL, Lake City’s doubleheader at Moscow was postponed because of weather conditions. A makeup date has yet to be announced.

•Kellogg swept visiting Priest River (2-9, 1-3) in an Intermountain League doubleheader. Chelsea Hoffman hit a two-run homer in the first inning as the Wildcats (6-5, 3-2) won the first game 18-1. In the second game, Hoffman and Chris Turback combined for nine RBIs and Kellogg won 22-10.

Boys soccer

Craig Nelson’s goal in the second minute of overtime gave West Valley a 2-1 Great Northern League win over visiting Clarkston. Cody Payne tied the game for the Eagles with a goal in the 37th minute. WV (3-6, 3-3) and Clarkston (2-7, 2-6) both had nine shots on goal. … Elsewhere in the GNL, Derrick Heim and Kyle Kinard scored goals, leading Pullman (8-1, 7-1) to a 2-1 win over host Riverside (5-4, 5-3). Kris Jordalen scored the Rams’ lone goal in the 78th minute. … Eric Alexander had a goal and an assist as Lakeside (3-1, 3-0) topped host Deer Park 3-1. Matt Dougherty scored the only goal for the Stags, who outshot the Eagles 11-9. … Ben Groce had a hat trick, leading Medical Lake (6-5, 5-4) to a 4-1 win over host Colville (2-7, 2-6). John Melvin made six saves for the Cardinals, who were outshot 8-7. … Mitch Weller scored three goals and Adam Brock and Joey Anderson added two apiece as Cheney whipped host Chewelah (1-9, 0-9) 9-0. The Blackhawks (10-0, 7-0) dominated the action, outshooting the Cougars 23-0.

Golf

Ferris edged University by four strokes and took first place at the Greater Spokane League meet at Wandermere Golf Course. Ryan Jones led Ferris after tying for fourth place with a 72. Mead’s Matt Penny was the medalist with a 70. Lewis and Clark finished third, followed by Gonzaga Prep. On the girls’ side, LC shot a 423 to take first place. Chessey Thomas led the Tigers after finishing third with a 78. Mead’s Lauren Howell and Brittany Wilcox tied for first after shooting 75. The Panthers finished second, followed by Mt. Spokane.

Track and field

Lake City’s Cody Helbling won the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs as the Timberwolves took first place at the Lewiston Quad in Lewiston. Host Lewiston took second, followed by Moscow and Lakeland. On the girls’ side, Kacy Wessels won the 200 and finished second in the 800 as Lewiston took first place with 87 points. Lake City finished second with 85 points, followed by Moscow and Lakeland.
