Singer Marc Anthony has agreed to pay about $2.5 million in back taxes, interest and penalties because of his failure to file returns for five years.

Prosecutors said Anthony failed to file returns for 2000 through 2004 on $15.5 million in income, but did file for 2005.

He and singer wife Jennifer Lopez file separate returns, so she was not implicated in the investigation.

Prosecutors said no charges will be brought against Anthony because he apparently believed his accountant had filed the returns.

He had relied on professional accountants in the past, and there were no problems, they said. The delinquencies began when Anthony changed accountants.

By the way, OK! magazine reports he and Lopez have “called it quits,” because he’s too controlling and is “suffocating” her.

But the New York Daily News says “one actual friend of the couple tells us that ‘they’re inseparable. I don’t get a whiff of trouble.’ “

Snoop Dogg avoided prison time by pleading no contest Wednesday to felony gun and drug charges stemming from an October arrest at the Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, Calif.

The 35-year-old rapper, born Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr., agreed to five years’ probation and 800 hours of community service.

His lawyer said outside court that Snoop smokes marijuana because he has migraines, and has a medical permit under state law.

He faces separate felony charges stemming from the September discovery of a collapsible baton in his baggage by a security screener at John Wayne Airport in Orange County.

Last week, KFC offered “American Idol” contestant Sanjaya Malakar – known for his outrageous hairstyles – a free lifetime supply of its Famous Bowls if he wore a bowl hairdo while performing on the show.

After that didn’t work, the fast-food chain upped the ante this week, tossing in $5,000 and a starring role in the next KFC Famous Bowls advertisement – again, to no avail.
