Work continues near Altamont exit

Repairs to an illumination system on westbound Interstate 90 near Altamont Street will take another day, a spokesman for the Washington State Department of Transportation said Tuesday.

Work will start at 9 a.m. today and may continue as late as 3 p.m., said Al Gilson.

The westbound Altamont on-ramp and westbound Second Avenue off-ramp will be closed during the work.

Crews are replacing a light pole near the Second Avenue off-ramp. Not only is the pole adjacent to the exit lane, but there are overhead power lines that require assistance from Avista crews, Gilson said.
