Braves 8, Cubs 6: At Atlanta, Jeff Francoeur hit a three-run homer, Kelly Johnson added a clutch two-run single and the Braves rallied to beat Chicago. Bob Wickman got three outs for his fifth save in as many chances.

Mets 9, Marlins 2: At Miami, John Maine took a no-hitter into the seventh inning and New York scored four times before Dontrelle Willis retired a batter in a win over Florida. Miguel Cabrera’s sharp single ended Maine’s no-hit bid.

Astros 7, Reds 2: At Cincinnati, Jason Lane hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning, completing a five-run rally that lifted Houston over the Reds.

Brewers 7, Pirates 3: At Milwaukee, Claudio Vargas struck out a career-high 11 over six innings, Bill Hall drove in three runs and the Brewers beat Pittsburgh.

Nationals 5, Phillies 4 (13): At Washington, Felipe Lopez’s sacrifice fly off Francisco Rosario in the 13th inning gave the Nationals a victory over Philadelphia.

Rockies 7, Dodgers 2: At Denver, Yorvit Torrealba hit a go-ahead, two-run single and Colorado took advantage of a shaky outing by Derek Lowe to beat Los Angeles.

Diamondbacks 5, Padres 2 (12): At San Diego, Eric Byrnes singled in the go-ahead run in the top of the 12th inning and Orlando Hudson followed with a two-run double to lead Arizona past the Padres.

Giants 6, Cardinals 5 (12): At San Francisco, Rich Aurilia singled home Randy Winn with two outs in the bottom of the 12th inning to carry the Giants past St. Louis. Barry Bonds hit his 738th career home run – a solo shot that tied the game in the eighth – for the Giants.
