Today – Spokane Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (SPO-CAN) Council Awards Breakfast, 8 a.m.-noon. Followed by Glen Cooper from Marycliff Institute on “Circle of Security: Classroom Edition,” Mukogawa Fort Wright, 4000 W. Randolph Road, $15 for breakfast and registration. Saturday – Free handouts with parenting tips will be distributed from 10 a.m. to Noon in front of Yokes Foods, 210 E. North Foothills Drive, in what is being billed as the single-largest child abuse prevention project in the nation. The “Believe in the Blue” effort is being organized locally by the Exchange Club of Downtown Spokane. About 200 Exchange Clubs nationwide will be distributing information during the same two-hour period.

Saturday – “The Keys to Diversity” for area high school students, presented by Youth Leadership Spokane and Downtown Rotary 21, Washington State University-Spokane Riverpoint Campus, Academic Center. Registration 7:45 a.m. (509) 459-4110
