Divorce Care Group at Millwood Presbyterian

A Divorce Care Group is starting this week at Millwood Presbyterian Church for divorced people dealing with the loss of social groups who would like to work through their emotions and feelings. The group will meet each Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the church, 3223 N. Marguerite Road.

Each session will include a video presentation followed by discussion. A workbook is available for $12. Anyone who is divorced is welcome. Call the church at 924-2350 for more information.

Drama performances

“The men’s drama team at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection will perform “The Apostles’ Reflection” during the 8 and 10 a.m. worship services Sunday. The church is at 15319 E. Eighth Ave.

“Youth from Christ Lutheran and Holy Trinity Lutheran will present a one-time performance of the musical “Oh, Jonah” telling the story of Jonah being swallowed by a whale. The performance will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday at Christ Lutheran, 13009 E. Broadway. Admission is free and all are welcome.

Family nights

Zion Lutheran Church will host a family fun night featuring bunco from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church, 8304 E. Buckeye. Dinner will be served. Those planning to attend are asked to make reservations by calling 926-5407.

“The family fun night at Opportunity Christian Church will feature a movie and popcorn. The event is from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the church, 708 N. Pines Road. All are welcome. Call the church at 926-3691 for more information.

Poker fundraiser

St. John Vianney Catholic School will host a unique Texas Hold’em Night fundraiser on Saturday, May 5, at 7 p.m. The cost is $30 per person with a limit of 100 players. Those playing must be over age 21. Only noncash prizes will be available. Refreshments and snacks will be served.

Those planning to drop by to play must call 926-7987 for reservations before Friday. The event is at the parish hall, 503 N. Walnut Road.
