Carl Gidlund Correspondent

Name: Kathy Saunders

Age: 51

Hometown: I was born in Boise, but I’ve lived in Blanchard for 25 years. I commute to town with some other ladies.

Occupation: I’m a retail clerk at the Just Because boutique in Hayden.

Family: My boys are Christopher, 26; Timothy, 24; and Adam, 19. They’re all off at college or in graduate school. My daughter, Erin, 17, still lives at home. And I’m engaged to Joseph Geach.

Hobbies: working on my golf game

What do you like about North Idaho? I especially like the easy pace. And North Idaho is beautiful and the people are friendly.

What do you like or dislike about the current season? Spring fools you. You think it’s going to be nice; then it’s cold again. Summers here are great. It’s hot for a day or two, then cools down again.

Favorite music: I’m of Irish descent, so my current favorites are the Celtic Women Singers. I also like the Eagles.

Favorite TV show: “Everybody Loves Raymond.” It’s funny.

Favorite movie: “My Fair Lady”

Favorite spot in North Idaho? Why? Stoneridge Golf Course. It’s off the beaten path, almost a secret place, and you can see the mountains of Washington and Idaho from there. And the Blanchard community is great, filled with wonderful people.
