Valley Fire – Commissioners discussed how to keep the district running in the event of multiple long-term absences during a pandemic. The issue will be discussed further during their next retreat. The chief of paramedics spoke about a new Continuous Positive Air Pressure device now on some trucks for those with chronic obstructing pulmonary disease. They are the only department in the area with the equipment. An interlocal agreement addressing fire investigators with fire departments in Spokane and Stevens counties was approved. Fairfield City Council – A representative from the Department of Agriculture spoke about the policy of spraying for mosquitoes and some local residents spoke about concerns with the procedure. City Council members gave final approval to build a skate park in the lower park where the basketball hoop currently is. Construction is expected to start in the next two weeks. Rockford City Council – Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich was in attendance and asked for feedback on law enforcement in the area.
