Mets 6, Rockies 1: At New York, Carlos Delgado hit his first home run of the season and John Maine pitched into the eighth inning, leading New York over Colorado. Jose Valentin had a three-run homer and four RBIs, while Moises Alou went 3 for 3 with a walk and two runs for the Mets. Matt Holliday had his third consecutive three-hit game for Colorado.

Marlins 8, Braves 7: At Miami, awaiting the imminent birth of his first child, Dontrelle Willis went about his business, pitching 6 2/3 innings and hitting a standup triple to help Florida beat Atlanta. Willis became the N.L.’s first four-game winner with a record of 4-1. Batterymate Miguel Olivo hit a three-run homer. Dan Uggla homered and drove in three runs, giving him three homers and nine RBIs in two games.

Phillies 11, Astros 4: At Philadelphia, Jimmy Rollins hit a leadoff homer and fell a double shy of the cycle, and Philadelphia had a season-high 20 hits in a win over Houston. Chase Utley connected for his fourth home run for the Phillies. Craig Biggio also hit a leadoff homer, the first time this season both leadoff batters went deep in the same game.

Brewers 5, Cubs 4 (12): At Chicago, Prince Fielder homered twice, including a 12th-inning drive that capped a comeback from a four-run deficit and led Milwaukee over Chicago. Fielder’s fourth homer of the season came with one out off Rocky Cherry, who entered to start the inning in his major league debut. Milwaukee’s bullpen allowed five hits in eight scoreless innings.
