Michael Knopp reaches Eagle Scout rank

Michael Knopp was recently awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest given to Boy Scouts. Knopp is a member of Troop 210. He is the son of Walter Knopp and Bonita Greene of Mead. For his project, he raised $10,000 and worked with state officials to install a toilet at the summit of Mt. Spokane State Park near the Vista House. Knopp is a student at Mt. Spokane High School.

“Katherine Wyrick of Spokane received a $5,000 award University Achievement Award from Washington State University. She is the daughter of Laine and Dani Rae Wyrick of Spokane and will graduate from Mead High School in June.

“North Central High School announced its recipients of scholarships and awards for the 2006-2007 academic year. The students are listed by honors.
