Fans of the TV comedy “The Office” (the U.S. version) can check in with this weekly podcast that is a hip little water-cooler summary and update on the show’s episodes.

Some people have trouble with the show, and with the inane portrayal by Steve Carrell of Michael, the bumbling, thick-headed manager of Dunder Mifflin, the fictional corporate site for the show’s zany escapades.

Well, as host Matt Sommer explains, that’s what you get and you either accept it or you don’t have a series.

Sommer isn’t the most eloquent host. Despite his rambling comments and meandering threads, this podcast manages to stay reasonably amusing. He clearly cares about the show, the actors and the show’s audience. Probably he should learn to narrow his focus for each podcast; as it is, some of the episodes drift and go way too slow for the average American TV viewer.

Production quality: fine.

Host temperament: Joe Sixpack.

Content: when focused, generally interesting.
