Reds 9, Pirates 5: At Pittsburgh, Edwin Encarnacion’s bases-loaded triple keyed Cincinnati’s comeback from an early three-run deficit, and Aaron Harang settled down to maintain his dominance of the Pirates in the Reds’ victory.

Mets 1, Nationals 0: At Washington, John Maine pitched seven sharp innings and Carlos Beltran homered for one of New York’s three hits, giving the Mets a victory over the Nationals.

Phillies 6, Marlins 1: At Philadelphia, Jamie Moyer took a no-hit bid into the seventh inning and combined with two relievers for a four-hitter in the Phillies’ win over Florida.

Dodgers 5, Padres 4 (17): At San Diego, Brady Clark hit a go-ahead double in the 17th inning and Los Angeles beat the Padres in the longest game in Petco Park’s four-year history.

Diamondbacks 5, Giants 4: At Phoenix, Orlando Hudson’s tiebreaking two-run double helped Arizona beat San Francisco for its fifth straight win.

Brewers 3, Astros 1: At Houston, Geoff Jenkins homered and Claudio Vargas pitched out of bases-loaded jams in three straight innings to lead Milwaukee to a victory over the Astros.

Rockies 9, Braves 7 (11): At Denver, Matt Holliday hit a two-run home run in the 11th inning to help Colorado avoid a three-game series sweep with a victory over Atlanta.

Cubs vs. Cardinals, ppd.: At St. Louis, the scheduled game between Chicago and St. Louis was postponed as a result of the death of Cardinals’ pitcher Josh Hancock. No makeup date has been announced.
