Dustin Dinning receives M.D. in osteopathy

Dustin Dinning graduated from Kansas City University with a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree. He is the son of Dennis and Anita Dinning of Chattaroy.

College graduations

Brynn Kelly of Spokane recently graduated from Davidson College in Davidson, N.C., with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. She is the daughter of Mike and Sue Kelly and a graduate of Ferris High School.

•The following students graduated from Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore. They are listed with their hometowns and fields of study.

Jennifer Bartlett of Rathdrum, Idaho, graduated with a bachelor’s in nursing.

Caitlin Hofmeister of Sandpoint graduated with a bachelor’s in creative writing and philosophy.

Michael Pearson of Spokane graduated with a bachelor’s in economics and finance.

Lauren Waggoner of Spokane graduated from St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y., with a bachelor’s in mathematics.

Kelly Robertson of Spokane graduated from Furman University in Greenville, S.C. She is the daughter of William Robertson.

Laura Montalvo of Spokane recently graduated from Texas State University with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication advertising.

Jeffrey Forshee of Spokane received his Master of Divinity from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary.

Elaine James of Spokane received a Master of Divinity and the John Finley McLaren Prize in Biblical Theology from Princeton Theological Seminary recently.

Casey Quiroga of Spokane graduated with a J.D. from Gonzaga School of Law. She is the daughter of Michael and Stephanie Hanson.

Scholarship winners

•Christopher Burdick of Liberty Lake received a two $1,500 President’s Scholarship from Western Washington University for the 2007-2008 academic year. Burdick is a recent graduate of Central Valley High School and is the son of Bill and Martha Burdick of Liberty Lake.

Geoff Palachuk recently received the University of Oregon Dean’s scholarship for the third consecutive year. He is a 2005 graduate of Central Valley High School and the son of Marie Palachuk of Spokane Valley.

•The following students were awarded scholarships from Eastern Washington University for their outstanding academic excellence.

Caroline Fletcher of Spokane was awarded a $3,000 Academic Honors scholarship. She is the daughter of Charlie and Jan Fletcher of Spokane and graduated in June from being home-schooled.

George Balcom of Spokane was awarded a $2,500 Transfer Academic Honors scholarship. He graduated in 1971 from Westmont High School in Campbell, Calif.

Jessica Fletcher of Spokane was awarded a $2,500 Transfer Academic Honors scholarship. She was home-schooled and graduated in June. She is the daughter of Charlie and Jan Fletcher of Spokane.

Academic honors

•Joshua Thompson of Spokane was awarded the President’s Honors Award at Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology recently. He is the son of David Thompson and Michael and Laurie Deming, all of Spokane.

•Four area students attending Montana Tech at the University of Montana, Butte, have been named to the honor roll or dean’s list for the spring semester.

Adam Hammes of Cheney, Caitlin McDowell of Medical Lake, and Rebecca Gimeno and Vanessa Murray, both of Spokane, were named to the honor roll. Murray also was named to the dean’s list.

Danielle Riebe of Spokane was named to the spring dean’s list at the University of Evansville in Evansville, Ind. recently. She is the daughter of Jon and Susanna Riebe of Spokane.

Laura Schlect of Spokane Valley was recently named to the spring semester dean’s list at Multnomah Bible College in Portland.

Emily Laete of Spokane was named to the dean’s list at Wisconsin Lutheran College. She is the daughter of Jake and Stephanie Laete of Spokane.

•Katy Brukardt of Spokane was named to the spring semester dean’s list at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn. She is the daughter of David and Mary Jane Brukardt of Spokane and is a graduate of Lewis and Clark High School.
