Davenport retains Four Diamond ranking

From Staff Reports The Spokesman-Review

Six months after adding a 328-room tower, The Davenport Hotel and Tower in downtown Spokane has once again received the American Automobile Association’s Four Diamond rating, which it has earned every year since the historic hotel re-opened in 2002.

The AAA inspector called hotel management from the Davenport lobby to make the announcement, the hotel said in a news release. AAA Four Diamond properties represent only 3 percent of the 60,000 AAA approved and diamond-rated properties, the release said.

The Davenport originally opened in 1914, closed in 1985 and re-opened five yeas ago. The tower opened in January 2007. The hotel and tower together offer 611 guest rooms, the fourth largest hotel in Washington state, the release said.
