Police believe fugutive is in East Farms

Spokane County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a fugitive who ran from a Newman Lake traffic stop Aug. 3. Timothy Don Smith, 30, is believed to be living in the East Farms area. He was stopped shortly after 10:20 p.m. last Friday for a traffic violation, but ran from his car.

Police say Smith was on Department of Corrections supervision for a felony drug charge when he escaped from community custody. In addition to the drug charge, Smith has been convicted of possessing stolen property, malicious mischief, violating court orders and driving with a suspended license.

Smith is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 185 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.

Secret Witness is offering a cash reward for information leading to his capture. Tips can be called in to 327-5111. Callers do not have to give their name to receive a cash reward but should leave a code name or a number with the operator.

Police seek repeat offender

A Spokane Valley man is wanted for possessing stolen property and hitting an unattended vehicle and then driving off. Sean Michael Driver is wanted on a warrant issued in Benton County, but the hit-and-run charge occurred in the Spokane area and Spokane Valley police would like Driver arrested, also.

A cash reward is being offered by Secret Witness.

Designated a repeat offender by law enforcement, Driver, 31, has been convicted of possessing controlled substances, first degree theft, attempting to elude police vehicles and taking motor vehicles without the owner’s permission.

Driver, whose last known address is 1305 S. Bowdish Road, is 6 feet tall, weighs 220 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes.
