Lennox, Storm rout Mystics

Betty Lennox scored a career-high 34 points and Lauren Jackson added 24 to lead the Seattle Storm to a 91-68 victory over the Washington Mystics on Saturday night.

Sue Bird added 17 points for the Storm, who clinched their fourth straight playoff berth.

Jackson, who spent most of the week in Australia visiting her ailing grandmother, scored 16 points in the third quarter – including 11 during Seattle’s 18-0 run to open the period.

Alana Beard and Monique Currie scored 13 apiece for Washington, which snapped a four-game winning streak.

Shock 74, Fever 69: At Auburn Hills, Mich., Deanna Nolan scored 18 of her 26 points in the second half, and Detroit beat Indiana to secure the league’s best record and clinch home-court advantage throughout the playoffs.

Sun 88, Sky 66: At Chicago, Margo Dydek had a season-high 18 points as Connecticut moved closer to clinching a playoff spot for the fifth straight year.

Silver Stars 63, Comets 60: At San Antonio, Becky Hammon scored 18 points, including three free throws in the final 11 seconds, to lead the Silver Stars over Houston. .

Mercury 100, Sparks 83: At Phoenix, Penny Taylor had 28 points and seven rebounds, Cappie Pondexter scored 21 points and the Mercury beat Los Angeles for their third straight victory.
