Pope recognized

Traditional Catholics at Mount St. Michael believe in the papacy but do not recognize Benedict XVI as the true pope. However, other traditionalists, including the Society of St. Pius X, have always recognized the pope. An Aug. 25 story about Latin Mass did not make this distinction.

Company name misspelled

Garco Construction was misspelled in a headline Tuesday, because of an editor’s error.

Statement misrepresented

Melanie Sloan, of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, said that a Senate committee recommended expulsion of Sen. Bob Packwood. A story Wednesday incorrectly characterized her statement.
