Hints from Heloise

The Spokesman-Review

Dear Heloise: I want to share a terrific hint for makeup removal. I know why women in the 1950s and ‘60s used cold cream to remove their makeup. They were – as I am – always so sleepy at night and didn’t want to wash their face and lose that wonderful “ready to fall asleep” feeling.

I purchased a baby-wipe warmer and filled it with lavender-scented baby wipes. I also put my eye-makeup-remover pads in the warmer. My makeup removal is so warm and thorough. Afterward, I just apply nighttime moisturizer, warmed in my hands first, and asleep I go.

You can create your own scents by applying a few drops of your favorite essential oil. I hope every woman will enjoy this as I do. – Tina Pantusa, via e-mail

Oohhh! I’m ready to nod off right now. I love your hint. One note on essential oils: Most should not be put directly on the skin. Dilute the oil with a carrier oil like almond, sweet almond, castor or olive, etc. Heloise
