Katy Baker and Nicole Scott totaled 13 points and nine rebounds apiece Wednesday night as Eastern Washington overcame foul trouble to defeat visiting Idaho 65-53 in non-conference women’s basketball at Reese Court.

Eastern snapped a six-game losing streak.

The Eagles (2-6) outscored the Vandals 27-9 from long range and built a lead as big as 18 points in the second half despite committing 25 fouls. EWU had one player foul out and three others who finished with four fouls apiece.

Idaho (0-8) shot 22 of 30 from the free-throw line to offset a poor shooting night from the field. The Vandals shot 30 percent from the floor, including 4 of 24 in the second half.

Eastern also shot poorly in the second half (7 for 28), but the Eagles were 14 of 28 from the floor before halftime.

La’Kenya Simon-West led the Vandals with 12 points.
