Churches offer Christmas productions

The weeks leading up to Christmas are the time when churches present plays, pageants and Sunday School productions based on the Christmas story. Take in the music and spirit of the season in one of the following productions.

• Spokane Valley Assembly of God Church will present a performance of “A Spokane Valley Christmas” at 6 p.m. Sunday. The production includes Christmas music, a choir, a concert orchestra and special effects. Admission is free and all are welcome. The performance will be at the church, 15618 E. Broadway Ave.

• “Miracle on Main Street” will be performed at the Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene at 7 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Sunday at the church, 15515 E. 20th Ave. The performances will include a combined adult and children’s choir, plus some puppets.

• The Sunday school children at Foothills Community Church will put on their Christmas program at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Those attending are asked to bring some snacks to share. The church is at 11102 N. Forker Road.

Santa Lucia

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will host its annual Festival of Light in honor of Santa Lucia at 5:30 p.m. Sunday. The evening includes a potluck dinner and Christmas sing-along. Those attending are also asked to bring finger desserts in addition to a potluck item. The church is at 810 S. Sullivan Road.
