People: Will Depp’s fame be fleeting?

From Wire Reports The Spokesman-Review

To Johnny Depp, freedom means simplicity and anonymity.

“I’m sure it will be a possibility someday again. Maybe when I get old,” Depp tells Esquire magazine.

“They get tired of you. ‘Didn’t you used to be Johnny Depp?’ That will be the clincher.”

The 44-year-old star of “Sweeney Todd,” which opens Christmas Day, says his friend and mentor Marlon Brando taught him to keep his private life private.

“That’s your world and it’s nobody else’s business,” he recalls Brando saying. “It’s not anybody’s entertainment.”

Depp says he’s learned to enter restaurants through the kitchen and hotels through the parking garage.

“It’ll definitely make you a little weird if you’re constantly being stared at,” he says.

“I don’t want to be a product. Of course you want the movies to do well. But I don’t want to know … who’s hot now and who’s not and who’s making this much dough and who’s boffing this woman or that one.

“I want to remain ignorant of all this. I want to be totally outside and far away from all of it.”

Mop-top dollar

A lock of John Lennon‘s hair sold for $48,000 Wednesday in an auction of Beatles memorabilia by the band’s hairdresser.

The hair – inside an autographed copy of Lennon’s book “A Spaniard in the Works” – sold to an unnamed telephone bidder.

A photo that George Harrison gave to hairdresser Betty Glasow, signed “George ‘Dandruff” Harrison,” fetched $13,000.

Hedging her bets?

Mother-to-be Jennifer Lopez has been spotted buying baby supplies and clothing for two babies – a girl and a boy – suggesting she’s having twins.

J.Lo has reportedly also put a request for a double baby carriage on her baby shower registry, along with $349 cashmere outfits, a suede play mat for $289, and a Balmoral enameled black carriage for a mere $3,495.

No beef with LeBeouf

Walgreen’s has decided not to press criminal charges against actor Shia LeBeouf for refusing to leave a Chicago store last month.

A security guard told the 21-year-old “Transformers” star that he needed to leave the store because he appeared to be drunk, but he refused. Police didn’t administer a sobriety test because LaBeouf wasn’t driving.

Rhymes with ‘Gore’

Paris Hilton is making a personal contribution to protecting the environment.

“I changed all the light bulbs to energy-safe light bulbs and I’m buying a hybrid car right now,” the 26-year-old celebrity heiress says.

Hilton says she turns off the lights and doesn’t leave the TV on or the water running when she leaves her house.

“Little things that people can do every day to make a huge difference,” she says.
