Merle Bighead gunned in 37 points and Merlin Weaselhead had his first triple-double to lead Lakeside of Plummer to an 85-36 North Star League boys basketball victory at Mullan on Monday night.

While Bighead outscored the Tigers single-handedly and pulled down 12 rebounds, Weaselhead contributed 12 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists as they led four Knights who scored in double figures.

Andrew Prohaska led a three-pronged attack for Coeur d’Alene as the Vikings rolled over visiting Sandpoint 75-41 in an Inland Empire League game. Prohaska had 13 points to lead three Vikings in double figures and produced five steals. Jon Latorre and Connor Williams scored 12 each for CdA. Senior Ryan Armbruster hit two 3-pointers and scored eight points to lead Sandpoint.

•In non-league games, an 8-0 run in the third quarter highlighted a Northwest Christian surge after intermission that carried the Crusaders to a 48-38 win over Lakeside at Nine Mile Falls. Chase Ramey had 13 points and nine rebounds to lead NWC. Brady Blankevoort led Lakeside with 11 points and nine rebounds. … Travis Todd had 23 points and eight rebounds and Bryce Todd eight points and nine assists to lead Odessa to a 58-41 win over visiting Columbia (Hunters). Ryan Kieffer led Columbia with 12 points. … Bonners Ferry took care of the ball and got 19 points and 11 rebounds from Ryan Winebark in a 68-49 victory over visiting Wallace. The Badgers had just eight turnovers to 13 for the Miners, who were led by Jared Bilaski’s 14 points.

Girls

Coeur d’Alene held visiting Sandpoint scoreless in the second quarter to blow things open and cruise to a 70-30 Inland Empire League victory.

Amy Warbrick hit all nine of her shots, going 5 of 5 from the field, in a 15-point game. She shared scoring honors with teammate Kama Griffitts, who also had 15 points and added six assists. Sandpoint, which missed all 10 of its shots in the second quarter, including eight from the field, was led by Jennifer Thomas’ seven points.

•In non-league games, Leslie Stillar had 22 points and eight rebounds, Kelli Tikker 17 points and Kendra Lahue 13 to lead Lakeside of Nine Mile Falls to a 63-32 win over visiting Northwest Christian. Colbi Neal had 11 points and Hayley Hendricksen 10 points and six rebounds for NWC. … Rian Miller had seven points, six rebounds, seven steals and six assists in a solid all-around game and Ruth Brunelle had a game-high 12 points to lead Lakeside of Plummer to a 48-13 win over visiting Mullan. The Tigers, who failed to score in the first quarter, were led by Fawn Story’s nine points.
