Associated Press The Spokesman-Review

Sarah-Jo Lawrence and Jessica Adair both scored 16 points to lead No. 9 George Washington to its 17th straight victory, 87-60 over Saint Joseph’s on Friday in Washington.

The 87 points were a season high for George Washington (24-2, 13-0 Atlantic 10) and the most allowed by Saint Joseph’s.

Saint Joseph’s (15-12, 7-6) never got closer than 11 points in the second half. The Colonials responded with a 12-2 run on which Kenan Cole made a layup and a 3-pointer for a 61-40 lead with 10 minutes left.

Erica Pollock and Ayanha Cornish led the Hawks with 10 points.

The win tied the Colonials with Temple, which they host Sunday, for the conference lead.
