Meet your Neighbor

Carl Gidlund Correspondent

Name: Wray Wilson

Age: 83

Hometown: Buffalo, N.Y. We moved here in 1955.

Occupation: Retired family practice physician.

Family: My wife, Toni, and I have one son, two daughters and eight grandkids.

Hobbies: Travel. Our most recent travels were a barge and bicycle trip through Holland and Belgium, and to Rochester, Minn., and Calgary. We also visit Glacier Park once or twice a year because that’s where Toni and I met in 1950.

What do you like about North Idaho? Everything, including our location here in the Pacific Northwest, our proximity to Glacier Park, and it’s easy to take off in any direction without having to drive through a big city.

What do you like or dislike about the current season? Can’t think of a thing to dislike.

Favorite music: Classical mainly, because my mother was a classical pianist and that kind of music seemed to follow. We listen to public broadcasting stations a lot.

Favorite TV show: College and professional major sports, football, basketball and hockey. Two of our grandsons played hockey at Notre Dame.

Favorite movie: “Hopscotch”

Favorite spot in North Idaho? Why? We love the whole area. It’s beautiful and the people are great. Our best friends are here.
