Teade leads Colfax into championship game

Meagan Teade scored a game-high 19 points and Sadie Lazzarini added 12 as Colfax topped Brewster 59-43 in a 1A Eastern Region playoff game at Eastmont High School on Friday night.

Kylie Shaw added 10 points for the Bulldogs, who outscored the Bears 20-7 in the third quarter.

In other tournament action at Eastmont, Carley Heinen scored a game-high 25 points and Jennesa Miller added 13 as Freeman (18-7) topped Cashmere 66-45. Courtney Taylor chipped in nine points for the Scotties. Cashmere’s season has concluded. … Tonasket beat Chewelah 63-41. Jenny Polm tallied a team-high 13 points for the Cougars (15-11), who trailed 38-16 at halftime. The Tigers advance to play Brewster at 10 a.m. today in a loser-out game at Wenatchee High. Chewelah’s season is finished. … Kristen Schram scored a game-high 31 points, leading Chelan to a 69-43 win over Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls). The Goats meet Colfax in the championship game at 2 p.m. today at Wenatchee to decide the top two seeds to the state tournament. The Eagles will play Freeman at 10 a.m. today in a loser-out game at Eastmont.

Boys

Tonasket beat Freeman 39-32 at Wenatchee High. Christian Casto scored a team-high 11 points and Chris Davis added 10 for the Scotties (18-6). … Brewster used a big second-half to beat Lakeside 52-34. Nick Phillips tallied a team-high nine points and Kyle Stillar added seven for the Eagles (16-9). The Bears outscored Lakeside 30-21 in the second half to build on an eight-point halftime lead. Brewster will play Tonasket in the championship game at 4 p.m. today at Wenatchee. …Michael Miller scored a game-high 18 points as Cashmere topped Colfax 61-50. Cashmere outscored Colfax 23-7 in the first quarter. Ben Aune had 18 points and Jered Berarducci added 11 to lead Colfax (17-8), which is finished for the season. Cashmere will face Lakeside at noon today in a loser-out game at Wenatchee. … Chelan beat Cascade (Leavenworth) 68-60. Chelan’s Goats will play Freeman at noon today in a loser-out game at Eastmont.
