Link bait

(n.) Link bait is anything people use to drive more traffic to a Web site. For bloggers, it’s the special use of material that helps others post links to one’s own site. In some cases, link bait is the calculated inclusion of text or photos that search engines will look for, including references to pop celebrities like “Britney Spears.” Link baiters also try to generate a Web buzz by sending out PR releases drawing attention to their own blogs, hoping other bloggers decide that’s worth mentioning the link baiter’s material.

Jargon 2.0 is a regular feature of .TXT.
