For generations, members of Temple Beth Shalom have invited the community to dinner so they can share their Jewish heritage and food. And year after year, Spokane and area residents heartily accept.

Organizers are expecting more than 2,200 people to join them again this year for authentic kosher beef brisket, appetizers, traditional Jewish side dishes and dessert on March 11 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In addition to the brisket, the menu includes potato knishes, carrot tzimmes, Mediterranean spiced apples, challah and apricot kuchen. Diners also can enjoy Jewish entertainers, including Chutzpah, the Kosher Redhots and The Mavens, before dinner and homemade baked goods and gift items are sold after dinner.

Take-out meals are also available. Temple Beth Shalom is at 1322 E. 30th Ave. at the corner of South Perry Street and 30th Avenue.

Tickets are $14 for adults and $7 for children 11 and younger. They can be purchased at: Huppins Hi-Fi Photo and Video, 421 W. Main Ave.; Manito Ship and Copy, 2920 S. Grand Boulevard; Pawn One North, 8014 N. Division St.; Pawn One Valley, 11812 E. Sprague Ave.; Gonzaga University Crosby Student Center, 1100 N.
