NBA : Arenas hits game-winner for Wizards

Gilbert Arenas hit a long 3-pointer at the buzzer, capping a 32-point game and giving the Washington Wizards a 108-105 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night in Washington.

Arenas hit his 32-footer, turned and strolled calmly away as if it were another shot on the playground, even as his teammates mobbed him in celebration. He went 12 for 25 from the field and had 11 rebounds and eight assists. Caron Butler added 29 points, seven rebounds and a career-high nine assists, and Antawn Jamison had 22 points for the Wizards.

Michael Redd led the Bucks with 27 points.

Timberwolves 103, Spurs 101 (OT): At Minneapolis, Mark Blount scored 28 points, Kevin Garnett had 27 points and 17 rebounds, and Minnesota beat San Antonio.

Clippers 110, Heat 95: At Miami, Elton Brand scored 28 points and Chris Kaman added 20 as Los Angeles beat Miami. Jason Kapono had 19 points for the Heat.

Cavaliers 107, Celtics 104: At Boston, LeBron James scored 32 points and Zydrunas Ilgauskas added 27 points and 11 rebounds to lift Cleveland to a victory over Boston.

Suns 100, Raptors 98: At Toronto, Steve Nash scored 13 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter to lead Phoenix to a victory over Toronto.

Grizzlies 144, Warriors 135: At Memphis, Tenn., Mike Miller scored a season-high 33 points and Pau Gasol added 24 points and 13 rebounds to lead Memphis to a victory over Golden State.

Jazz 98, 76ers 87: At Salt Lake City, Carlos Boozer had 27 points and 14 rebounds, Deron Williams just missed his career high with 14 assists, and Utah beat travel-weary Philadelphia.

Knicks 99, Trail Blazers 81: At Portland, Eddy Curry had 27 points, including six dunks, and New York snapped a three-game losing streak on its West Coast trip with a victory over Portland.

Around the league

Miami Heat forwards Antoine Walker and James Posey were deactivated for the team’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers because they didn’t meet a team conditioning goal. The deactivations center around weight and body fat mandates. … The New Jersey Nets sent veteran guard Jeff McInnis to the Charlotte Bobcats for swingman Bernard Robinson.
