Volunteers needed for fundraiser

The Spokesman-Review

The American Cancer Society is looking for volunteers for its 11th annual Daffodil Days sale, which starts Feb. 1 for Spokane County.

All money raised through this sale goes toward funding cancer research, state and national advocacy, and many educational and community service programs such as Reach to Recovery and Look Good, Feel Better.

Volunteers serve as daffodil sales representatives and contact friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and social organizations.

A bouquet of 10 daffodils costs $10 or comes with a blue acrylic vase for $15.

This year, for $25, the society is offering the new “Bear and a Bunch,” a bouquet of daffodils together with a 14-inch Boyd’s teddy bear. Each year the society will offer a new collectible bear. This year’s bear is named “Hugh R. Hope.”

Orders are due Feb. 28 and will be delivered on March 19.

To volunteer or to learn more about this event, call Judy Lippman, community relationship manager for the American Cancer Society, at 242-8286.
