NBA: Mavericks get 12th straight win

Devin Harris scored 13 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter Thursday night, pushing the Dallas Mavericks to a 100-91 victory over the Indiana Pacers to extend the NBA’s longest winning streak to 12 games.

Josh Howard had 25 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Mavericks.

Al Harrington had 24 points and 11 rebounds for Indiana.

Pistons 92, Hornets 68: At Oklahoma City, Richard Hamilton scored 27 points and Detroit earned a victory over New Orleans.

Jannero Pargo led the Hornets with 16 points. Desmond Mason added 15.

Lakers 132, Kings 128: At Sacramento, Calif., Kobe Bryant overcame a scoreless opening 16 minutes to finish with 42 points, and Los Angeles beat Sacramento.

The Kings’ Mike Bibby scored 38.

SuperSonics notes

Clay Bennett was in the Puget Sound area to begin two whirlwind days of meetings with local officials about a potential new arena for the Seattle SuperSonics, well behind his ownership group’s original timeline for unveiling arena plans.

The new owner of the Sonics and WNBA Storm is hoping to have a final site for a new suburban arena and an outline of how to pay for the facility by Jan. 18, spokesman Jim Kneeland said.

“The SuperSonics waived guard Desmon Farmer and center Andreas Glyniadakis, just days before their contracts would have become guaranteed.
