PAC-10: Wildcats down Huskies 96-87

Freshman Chase Budinger scored 23 points and Marcus Williams and Jawaan McClellan each scored 22 to lead No. 7 Arizona to its 12th consecutive victory Thursday night, 96-87 over No. 24 Washington.

McClellan tied a career high and Mustafa Shakur added 21 points for Arizona (12-1, 3-0 Pac-10).

The Wildcats are on their longest winning streak since they won 19 in a row in 1998 before losing in the NCAA regional finals to Utah.

Quincy Pondexter, benched for the first time in his collegiate career, matched his career high with 25 points for Washington (10-4, 0-3), which lost its third straight.

(1) UCLA 71, Oregon St. 56: At Corvallis, Ore., Josh Shipp had 18 points and all five UCLA starters scored in double figures as the top-ranked Bruins (14-0, 3-0 Pac-10) beat the Beavers (8-7, 0-2).

Arron Afflalo scored 14 points for the Bruins, while Darren Collison had 11 points and six assists. Luc Richard Mbah a Moute had 11 points and nine rebounds, and Lorenzo Mata added 10 points for UCLA.

Sasa Cuic had 13 points and seven rebounds for OSU.

USC 84, (16) Oregon 82: At Eugene, Ore., Nick Young scored 19 points and Taj Gibson recorded 18 points, 13 rebounds and seven blocks as the Trojans (12-4, 2-1 Pac-10) handed the Ducks (13-1, 1-1) their first loss of the season.

Gabe Pruitt added 18 points for Southern California, which shot 55 percent from the field, while Lodrick Stewart had 14 points and Dwight Lewis had 10.

Aaron Brooks scored 31 points for Oregon.
