Miami trying to woo Carroll ?

Associated Press The Spokesman-Review

Miami Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga’s travel itinerary suggests he’s trying to lure Southern California coach Pete Carroll back to the NFL.

Carroll has been on vacation in Costa Rica, and a Huizenga-owned plane flew there Sunday, then returned to Fort Lauderdale, according to flight records.

A Dolphins spokesman declined to say whether Huizenga met with Carroll. USC spokesman Tim Tessalone said Carroll was expected to return from vacation today.

The Dolphins interviewed two candidates Monday: their defensive coordinator, Dom Capers, and Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Mike Tomlin.

All-Pro team announced

LaDainian Tomlinson, Jason Taylor and Champ Bailey capped superb seasons by unanimously making the Associated Press NFL All-Pro team.

In all, the Chargers had the most All-Pros with five: Tomlinson, tight end Antonio Gates, fullback Lorenzo Neal, defensive tackle Jamal Williams and linebacker Shawne Merriman.

The Bears were next with four All-Pros: linebacker Brian Urlacher, Devin Hester, center Olin Kreutz and kicker Robbie Gould.

Saints quarterback Drew Brees edged the Colts’ Peyton Manning for the quarterback position.

He was joined on the All-Pro squad by Saints second-year tackle Jammal Brown.

Kansas City’s Larry Johnson was selected in the backfield with Brees.

The wideouts are Marvin Harrison of Indianapolis and Chad Johnson of Cincinnati.

Another Bengal, tackle Willie Anderson, is on the offensive line, where he’s joined by Philadelphia guard Shawn Andrews and Pittsburgh guard Alan Faneca.

Taylor anchors a defense also featuring Carolina end Julius Peppers, Minnesota tackle Kevin Williams, Baltimore linebacker Adalius Thomas, Miami linebacker Zach Thomas, Jacksonville cornerback Rashean Mathis, Philadelphia safety Brian Dawkins and Baltimore safety Ed Reed.

Buffalo’s Brian Moorman is the punter.

In all, there are 18 AFC players and 10 from the NFC.

Martin probably done

Curtis Martin, the NFL’s No. 4 rusher, reiterated that he has probably played his last game because of a bone-on-bone right knee injury that sidelined him all season.

Search goes on

•Norm Chow became the seventh candidate to be interviewed for the Arizona Cardinals’ coaching job.
