Mission work classes

Perspectives on the World Christian Movement is presenting a 16-week class that will discuss reaching the world through mission work in Spokane and Post Falls.

Students can take the course at four different levels: for enrichment, a certificate, or for undergraduate or graduate credit.

The classes in Spokane will be on Mondays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. from Monday through April 30 at Fourth Memorial Church, 2000 N. Standard St.

In Post Falls, the classes will be offered on Sundays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. from Sunday through April 29 at Real Life Ministries, 1866 Cecil Road, Post Falls.

The cost of the course ranges from $210 to $430, depending upon the level of study. Anyone who has taken the class in the past can attend for free.

Concerts

“The Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave., is presenting the Slavic Baptist Youth Choir Sunday at 4 p.m. as part of its Second Sunday concert series.

The choir of 80 voices will perform Russian, European and American music by Mozart, Archangelsky and Berry. Vasiliy Romanuyk will conduct.

Before the concert, the cathedral will be open for self-guided tours from 1 to 4 p.m.

Free-will offerings will be accepted.

“The Spokane Buddhist Temple, 927 S. Perry St., is presenting the group Music for World Peace today at 7 p.m.

The group, composed of Todd Milne on bamboo flute and Thomas Richardson on sitar, will perform meditative music to promote the dharma, or cosmic order of all beings and things, and to raise money for the temple. A $5 donation is suggested.

Holy Spirit Comforter Conference

The Grace for All Nations Ministry International is presenting Emmanuel Ziga during the group’s 2007 Holy Spirit Comforter Conference Thursday through Jan. 21 at the Coeur d’Alene Resort, 115 S. Second St., Coeur d’Alene.

Ziga is an evangelist from Seattle and president of GFANMI.

The conference will include special music from Betty Symons, and daytime and evening meetings are planned.

Free-will offerings will be taken.

Christian singles

Spokane Christian Singles is offering speed-dating today for singles in their 20s through 40s today at 6 p.m. at Café Donna, 12005 E. Trent Ave.

The cost is $10 for first-time speed-daters and $7 for anyone who has attended in the past.

There also will be an all-you-can-eat buffet for an extra charge.
