Rocky Mountain hands Carroll first league loss

HELENA, Mont. – Chris Nickolei scored 21 points Saturday as Rocky Mountain College downed Carroll College 82-71.

The Bears (13-8, 3-2) built a 17-point lead midway through the third quarter as Nickolei and Devon Uskoski combined to make eight straight baskets. Uskoski finished with 16 points on the night.

The Saints (14-6, 4-1), however, cut the lead to four with less than two minutes to go. Rocky’s Cooper Warren made eight straight free throws down the stretch to seal the win.

Eric Henkel scored 20 points for the Saints, while Dallas Leslie chipped in 17.

The Bears shot 56 percent from the field for the game. Carroll shot 37 percent from the field.
