Eagles fall short

OGDEN, Utah – David Patten scored 21 points – one of four Weber State players to reach double figures – as Weber State defeated Eastern Washington 93-84 in Big Sky Conference men’s basketball play Saturday.

Dezmon Harris added 20 for the Wildcats (14-9, 7-4 Big Sky), while Juan Pablo Silveira and Arturas Valeika each added 11.

Rodney Stuckey lead the Eagles (11-11, 5-5) with 29 points, while teammates Paul Butorac and Kellen Williams added 22 and 13, respectively.

Valeika also grabbed 12 rebounds for his third double-double of the season as WSU outrebounded EWU 34-20.

Harris gave the Wildcats their biggest lead in the second half when his jumper put Weber St. ahead 67-54 with 11:16 remaining. The Eagles answered with a 12-2 run over the next three minutes to pull within 69-66.

Weber State finished 67 percent from the floor, while EWU shot 55 percent.
