What are you taking to Roadshow?

This behemoth poster, brought in to Antiques Roadshow in Portland, is an example of the variety of items brought to the show. Appraiser Nicholas Lowry of Swann Galleries indentifies the image as that of the former Sutro Baths of California, a huge complex that could once accommodate over 10,000 swimmers at a time. Such a big poster commands a big bounty: Lowry estimates the auction value at $15,000-$20,000.

By now, you know if you’re in.

If you entered the ticket lottery for the Aug. 4, Antiques Roadshow event in Spokane, and you won a ticket, you’ve been notified.

Now it’s time to decide just what you’ll be bringing in for the experts, and possibly the world, to see and evaluate. And that’s where Treasure Hunt comes in.

I’d love to know just what you’re going to show off. I’m going to be featuring Roadshow previews in the weeks before the show tapes in Spokane, and I’d love to include your special find or heirloom.

Not everyone will get their 15 minutes of fame on television, but each week’s issue of Home has lots of room. Drop me a line or give me a call and tell me about your treasure.

It’s your chance to show and tell.
