Froemke picked for Cascade Cup

Anthony Froemke of Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) High School was the lone local player selected to participate in the Cascade Cup, an all-state baseball series pitting a team from Washington against a team from Oregon.

The doubleheader will take place June 23 at Hudson’s Bay High School in Vancouver, Wash.

Froemke was 1 for 2 in Sunday’s championship game of the All-State Series, where Greg Peavey of Hudson’s Bay hit a walkoff two-run homer to give Team A a 9-8 victory over Froemke’s Team D. Team B beat Team C 13-7 in the consolation game.
