Site will track tech during 2008 election

The Spokesman-Review

Techpresident.com has set out to become a tech site devoted almost completely to how technology will be used or misused during the next presidential race.

Its mission statement says: “The 2008 election will be the first where the Internet will play a central role, not only in terms of how the campaigns use technology, but also in how voter-generated content affects its course. TechPresident.com plans to track all these changes in real-time, covering everything from campaign sites, online advertising and email lists to the postings on YouTube and who has the fastest growing group of friends on MySpace.”

It will sport the usual compendium of content: daily bloggers, video reels, links to stories, charts and graphs.

Its contributors say they’ll continually update campaign-trail reports, with photos and video.

A post recently brought to light this immensely important issue: A news story out of Boston that found proof that Hilary Clinton had plastic surgery was WRONG!! See the story at TechPresident.com to get the gory details.

Major upside: the site’s managers are committed to posting links to other sites doing creative things with election coverage. That’s helpful.

GotFrag.com

Does anyone out there remember plans for Spokane’s online game networking site, GamerZunion.com?

The startup company developing GamerZunion has been working on raising cash and moving forward, trying to push into the swirling world of online gamers. Its plans have been hampered by cash problems, however.

In the meantime, dozens of other online sites have moved into that space. One of the biggest is GotFrag.com, which started small in 2002 and was just acquired by a much larger company, Majorleaguegaming.com.

Warning: Being older than 30 will definitely cost you points and you’ll struggle making your way through the directories the site offers.

If World of Warcraft or Halo 2 is your raison d’etre, here you go. Tell them TXT sent you.
