Population growth

The Spokesman-Review

Remember growing up and going through the fields in Holiday Hills? Well, those hills are filling up with houses now.

Have you ever gone outside on a cool summer night and listened to the sounds of nature? Well, if we don’t try to help this, you’re not going to be able to listen to that anymore.

I’m not saying we have to reduce the population, but changing your habits could help. Did you know that Spokane’s garbage fees are nearly the highest in the nation? Decreasing our garbage output by recycling and reusing could change that also.

Due to population increasing and the amount of garbage we use, the deer and other wildlife have to go to smaller habitats. Due to clear cutting and building these animals are having to move. If we try to reduce our garbage we could make a difference.
